Last month -- on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 -- my brave, brilliant and beautiful daughter, Sofia gave a one-hour presentation at Portland's Art Museum. Her talk focused on the sexual and emotional abuse she suffered as a young girl. Her abuser was a former step-father who died suddenly shortly after the abuse came to light. She prepared a powerful visual presentation comprised of a series of photographs she took in the aftermath of the abuse she had suffered.
She spoke to several hundred of us packed into the Miller Room of PAM's Mark Building. The talk was sponsored by the Museum's Photography Council. None of us had the presence of mind to film Sofia's presentation, but fortunately she had the sense to use her phone to get a voice recording. Sofia has since put that voice recording together with her slide show and uploaded it to YouTube. You can access it here:
