Climate change is downright scary. Fear can either numb us into hopelessness and despair. Or fear can sharpen our attention and motivate us to act in earnest. Join climate activist, Tim DeChristopher, and the Rev. Kate Lore for a heartfelt service on the role of fear as we consider the future of our planet.
Sunday Soul meets in-person at 5 PM PST on Sundays in the First Unitarian Buchan Building in the Eliot Center in downtown Portland, Oregon. Enter the building on Salmon St. Free parking will be available until 6:00 pm in the main lot on SW 12th between SW Main and SW Salmon.
Anyone, anywhere can participate online.
Leaders: Rev. Kate Lore and Tim DeChristopher
Guest Vocal Artist: Mic Crenshaw - live debut of a new piece called "Earth Bound"
SUNDAY SOUL - Living with Hope and Courage - interweaves music, storytelling, multimedia and sharing to enliven, nourish and inspire. It is authentic and participatory. It offers time for stillness or prayer and space for our spirits to cry or shout out. It challenges our comforts and holds us in our vulnerability. Through rituals of connection, we are able to transform ourselves and discover our common humanity.
We gather not just in Portland, but on the web, too. Using online chat, video and a creative worship, we’ll interact with each other as one interconnected group of people.
Sunday Soul is the place where your spirituality and technology can come together. Where you don’t have to check your smart phone at the door. Where you can really worship with others even from your living room.
So invite a friend to join you, no matter where they are!
