Revolutionary Moments…

http://www.ThePortlandAlliance.org/afewwords

A few words about November 2016

"There is no difference.

Republicans work for the corporate elite and brag about it.

Democrats work for the corporate elite and lie about it.

“A hard look at Sanders on foreign policy issues shows that he is a progressive poseur, a phony, a conservative Democrat, and not a socialist by any means.”

But we have another better option."

December 30, 2016

Older column:

usuncutRonnie Reagan, George Herbert Walker Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jon Ellis (JEB) Bush and Bernie Sanders are ALL on the same page when it comes to Gaza, wars of choice, capitalism and the military-industrial complex.

If you want more war, then vote for the corporate core:  Republicans support the Fortune 500 and brag about it…  and the Democrats support the same cons and used to lie about it.  But this week, Obama and the Democrats threw us under the bus.  checkout the rest:

Salt and Terror in Afghanistan

by Kathy Kelly

In late January in a room in Kabul, Afghanistan, I joined several dozen people, working seamstresses, some college students, socially engaged teenagers and a few visiting internationals like myself, to discuss world hunger. Our emphasis was not exclusively on their own country’s worsening hunger problems. The Afghan Peace Volunteers, in whose home we were meeting, draw strength from looking beyond their own very real struggles.

On Thursday, December 31st 2015 at 11:30 am, hundreds gathered at Portland City Hall to protest the reinstatement of Ron Frashour.

This PDX Police officer violated state and federal laws as well as PDX Police Bureau Manuel of Policy and Procedure guidelines when he approached an ongoing police investigation, did not check with the officer in charge, and then picked up his AR-15 assault rifle and shot Aaron Campbell in the back on January 29, 2010.

The Oregon Court of Appeals has ordered the city of Portland to rehire this rash and insubordinate officer, whose itchy trigger finger cost the life of an unarmed man.  Aaron Campbell,  at the time he was shot, was in compliance with the orders of the officer in charge of the scene. He was not armed and posed no threat. The officers who had been at the scene for some time had everything under control, but Frashour said he was so scared, that he decided to take it upon himself to shoot Aaron in the back.

Martin Luther King
was assassinated
by the
United States Government
according
to the
King Family
civil trial verdict

"Coretta Scott King: “We have done what we can to reveal the truth, and we now urge you as members of the media, and we call upon elected officials, and other persons of influence to do what they can to share the revelation of this case to the widest possible audience.”
– King Family Press Conference, Dec. 9, 1999.

Dr. Martin Luther King’s family and personal friend/attorney, William F. Pepper, won a civil trial that found US government agencies guilty of assassination/wrongful death. The 1999 trial, King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators, is the only trial ever conducted on the assassination of Dr. King:

Update on the Sandra Bland Murder:
Nobody is held accountable for the death of Sandra Bland:
And we all lose!

Cannon Lambert, a lawyer for the Bland family, called the grand jury proceedings a “sham of a process,”
and that family members first learned there was no indictment through news reports.

“We would like very much to know what in the heck they’re doing, who they’re targeting and if it has anything
to do with Sandy and her circumstances,” Lambert told The New York Times Monday night.

ail; the trial is scheduled for January 2017.

NATO Slaughter: James and Joanne Moriarty expose the truth about what happened in Libya

Editors Note: this information was provided via Facebook:
John Tinker
" "This sure reads like a true story, but I have no way of knowing."
From sourcing I have done this seems accurate.  What the Obama administration has done in Libya, with the help of Hillary Clinton, represents a crime more horrifying than the worst of the abuses of the Bush administration.  Time will tell, but these look like war crimes. ~Tim Flanagan, associate editor at the Alliance

What Everyone Should Know About The Police Killing Of Tamir Rice (2002-2014)

Dec 28, 2015 9:36 pm

CREDIT: AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana

Today, prosecutor Tim McGinty announced that he would not seek criminal charges against the officers involved in the fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback. The decision came after a grand jury, which has been hearing evidence for three months, declined to issue an indictment.
Rice’s family and others sharply criticized McGinty’s conduct throughout the grand jury process, arguing that he was manipulating the proceedings to the benefit of the officers.

Here are seven facts that everyone should know about the case.

Killer Drone News Blackout Continues:   Mainstream Media Ignores Whistleblowers

By John Hanrahan

"This time, the major media chose to ignore four former Air Force drone-war personnel who went public with an open letter to President Obama. The letter urged the President to reconsider a program that killed “innocent civilians,” and which “only fueled the feelings of hatred that ignited terrorism and groups like ISIS, while also serving as a fundamental recruiting tool [for extremists] similar to Guantanamo Bay.”

In strong, dramatic language, the four men — in the letter and subsequent press appearances — challenged the official Obama White House/Pentagon/CIA public view that civilians are rarely killed by drones, and that drones make Americans safer and are helping defeat terrorists. Rather, they said that the U.S. drone war plays right into the hands of ISIS and other extremist groups by terrorizing local populations and killing innocent civilians, resulting in heightened anti-U.S. feeling and more recruits for ISIS."

Christmas like climate crisis!

About Jill Stein

Dr. Jill Stein is a mother, housewife, physician, longtime  teacher of internal medicine, and pioneering environmental-health advocate.  She is running for President of the United States.

She is the co-author of two widely-praised reports,  In Harm's Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development, published in 2000, and Environmental Threats to Healthy Aging, published in 2009.  The first of these  has been translated into four languages and is used worldwide. The reports promote green local economies, sustainable agriculture, clean power, and freedom from toxic threats.

Her "Healthy People, Healthy Planet" teaching program reveals the links between human health, climate security, and green economic revitalization. This body of work has been presented at government, public health and medical conferences, and has been used to improve public policy.

Jill was born in Chicago and raised in suburban Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1973, and from Harvard Medical School in 1979. Jill enjoys writing and performing music, and enjoys long walks with her Great Dane, Bandita. Dr. Stein lives in Lexington with her husband, Richard Rohrer, also a physician. She has two sons, Ben and Noah, who have graduated from college in the past few years.

But enough talk... listen to Jill!      http://www.ThePortlandAlliance.org/jillstein
